Custom Portraits & Illustrations

I am currently taking commissions for custom portraits and illustrations, including pet portraits, house portraits, venue illustrations and custom stationery artwork & designs.

Some clients start with a pet portrait and later decide to turn it into greeting cards - your artwork can be as versatile as you'd like. I can guide you through options for turning your illustration into printed pieces.  

My main style is watercolour illustration but we can discuss if there is a specific look or aesthetic you have in mind. 

Process

Once we agree on your vision and project scope, I will provide an estimated completion time. To secure your spot, I take a 40% non-refundable deposit. I'll complete the artwork and send you a photo of the finished piece. If you would like to see progress shots, I can share them as well. If you are happy with the result, I'll send the final invoice, and the artwork will either be packaged and shipped (for original paintings) or delivered digitally (for venue/event illustration and stationery design).

Reference Photos

For portraits, pet portraits especially, good reference photos are crucial. The clearer the photo, the better the likeness I can capture. For best results, please send a high resolution image taken in natural daylight. Phone cameras usually work well, but please avoid screenshots - the original photo keeps all the details we need for accuracy and realism.

Pricing

Pricing depends on the size, medium and level of detail, but here are some starting points to give you an idea. 

  • Pet Portraits: from $150 for a single subject on a plain background
  • House Portraits: $200–$400
  • Venue Illustrations: $250–$500 (for weddings & special events)
  • Custom Stationery Artwork & Design: $200+ for smaller elements (floral motif, venue map, etc.), custom suites $500+ (invitation designs, envelope liners, etc.) 
  • Greeting Cards featuring your illustrated portrait: ~$3-4 per card depending on volume and size

Every piece is quoted individually once I know the details, so these ranges are just a guide.
